Some research scientists believe the problem of GROWTH HORMONE deficiency lies with the increase of somatostatin (GROWTH HORMONE “blockers”), the natural inhibitor (blocker) of GROWTH HORMONE.

Somatostatin has been found to increase in population within the body with age, and may act to block the pituitary’s release of GROWTH HORMONE. When researchers eliminated somatostatin production in old rats, they found Growth Hormone secretion, as great as those of young rats. This might indicate, theoretically, that the Pituitary Gland has a life-long ability to produce any healthy level of GROWTH HORMONE we might desire. Our bodies seem to be programmed to slowly fall apart and die, so that our species can evolve to the ever changing environment presented by nature. Since we now have the ability to direct our own evolution and control nature, dying isn’t as necessary as it might have been in the past for our species to continue its evolution upward.
